Save the Date!!  Finally, December 31st, 2009 had arrived!  It was WEDDING TIME!

What a cute idea to begin the wedding festivities!!

The boys don’t take nearly as long to get ready as the girls, but they do need a little help to look this good, like putting their ties on!

The Maid of Honor performing her duties by helping the bride with her dress and making sure her veil doesn’t get tangled in the car!  The sweatshirts are adorable too!!

The girls finished getting ready at the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library where the ceremony and reception was held.

Instead of taking pictures after the ceremony, Lauren and Evan chose to take the majority of their pictures before the ceremony.  So their fabulous photographer Erin set up a reveal.  This way the groom was surprised to see his bride for the first time.  Check out Erin’s awesome blog of this magical day here!!

A very special moment captured on film!

 Because our couple was SO photogenic, and because Erin Hession is an amazing photographer, there are so many pictures I love from this wedding, that I couldn’t choose just a couple.  Enjoy the next several pictures as the couple and their bridal party took part in a fun photo shoot, taking full advantage of the many photo opportunities the Library has to offer!

There will be plenty of time for reading on the plane to their honeymoon. Can you guess where they are going?!

 

 

 

 

  

No time to read boys!  It’s time to get married!

Angie and Janet from Bokay Florist did another incredible job with Lauren’s beautiful, eye catching bouquet!

The girls had stunning bouquets too, as they showed off white calla lillies wrapped in plum ribbon and silver bouillion.  Super elegant and classy!

I LOVE this picture!  You can tell how much fun they are having, especially Lauren!  And why shouldn’t she, it is her day!

Lauren should be a model!!  The camera LOVES her!!  Indianapolis has such a pretty skyline, that I adore this picture. 

 You can’t hide! Erin is like the paparazi!  If there is a good photographic to be taken, she’ll find it!

It’s wedding time!  The mothers light the candles for the unity piece.  Evan’s mother was also the officiant.  How special!  The ceremony took place in the lobby (Simon Reading Room) of the Library.  The transformation from entry way to ceremony is incredible.  Bokay Florist, as well as A Touch of Elegance, always has creative ideas to make the space a fairy tale place to tie the knot!

Evans Audio Visual did an amazing job with the purple uplighting to create a really romantic look!

 Mr. and Mrs. Evan Shook!!

The reception was set up in the library.  Plum uplighting was shot up into the ceiling to make the reception hall stunning.  Candles helped to light the tables giving the entire party a very romantic and festive feel! 

Evans Audio Visual did an incredible job making the entire library light up.  It looked so magical!

 As always, Angie and Janet at Bokay Florist did an incredible job designing pieces to compliment the enormous library.  Lauren decided to use some tall center pieces on top of large pilsners, with calla lilies and dripping orchids and greenery.  She also used short vased pieces with purple and white dendrobium orchids and silver bear grass as well as tall cylinders with beautiful white calla lilies artfully designed inside.  All of the flowers used were so tasteful.  Candles were placed on all tables to light the darker room and make the reception intimate and romantic.

The head table was lined with candles that flickered all evening long!

Paige Hayes from Sweet Seductions baked and designed a perfect cake!  Check out close up pictures of the inscriptions that Evan and Lauren used to describe their wedding day.  Words such as ‘Beautiful’, ‘Fairy Tale’, and ‘Happily Ever After’.  I LOVE this idea!!!

Evan and Lauren were nice to each other as they sweetly fed each other cake.  The cake was remarkable as it had 6 tiers with 5 different flavors!  White cake with raspberry filling, Devils food cake with chocolate truffle filling, lemon cake with lemon filling, almond poppy seed with cream cheese filling and white cake with cream cheese filling…so yummy!!!


Evan and Lauren rented a photo booth to help capture all the moments of their wedding that surely went by too quickly.  A photo booth is an awesome new trend that helps you remember all the special people who were able to share the day with you, and record the silly moments that you may have missed during the reception!

 Lauren laughs as her Maid of Honor gave her toast.  Evan’s Best Man, Bret, also gave a great toast!

Evan and Lauren danced their first dance slowly to Pearl Jam’s, “Just Breathe.”  I love how Erin captured the lighting and shadows in this picture.  Such a beautiful shot.

 Evan and Lauren thanked their guests for coming by setting up a table filled with candy.  They chose a theme of black and white candy consisting of white wedding conversation hearts, black gummies and licorice, silver jordan almonds and Hershey kisses, purple M&Ms and sugar plums.  Guests were able to fill up small bags with whatever they chose.  Jamee Bryant from Setting The Mood decorated the table with clocks and disco balls to remind guests that not only was it a wedding, but it was also NEW YEARS EVE!

 Don’t forget to grab a horn so you can help ring in the New Year!!  These horns also doubled as guest name cards!  They also made sure there was a clock on each table.  This not only helped guests find their correct table, but it allowed guests to keep track of the time so they could count down to midnight!  The clocks were pre-set to midnight so they all went off at 12:00, such a fun idea!!

Lauren Danced with her father to the song “And I Loved Her” by the Beatles.

Evan danced with his mother to the song “Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder.

The Bride and Groom decided to feature a band for live music. The Souled Out Band was AMAZING!  They were great entertainment to listen to and for dancing!

The card box was made by Lauren’s mother with beautiful silver and black Christmas wrapping paper and plum sheer ribbon to incorporate all of their colors!  A picture book was put on the table as a guest book.

 Guests were not allowed to go hungry through ut the evening.  Evan and Lauren provided guests with french fries in cones and a nacho bar!  What a yummy midnight treat after all the dancing guests did worked up an appetite!

Remember, the wedding celebration was also a New Years Eve party!  Of course party hats and horns were supplied to keep the party festive so that Evan and Lauren could ring in the new year with all of their favorite people!

 We had a TERRIFIC time celebrating with the new Mr. and Mrs. Shook!

The Count Down was ON!  10….9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1……..

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

What a perfect way to begin 2010….as man and wife!!

 

 As if appetizers, dinner, cake, candy, and midnight snacks weren’t enough, Lauren and Evan offered donuts and coffee at midnight to give guests a little extra sugar and keep the party rocking!  Talk about excellent party hosts!

Finally, at 1:00am it was time to say good night.  Lauren and Evan had their grand exit with family and friends looking on, as they climbed into their limo.  Even though they had the perfect wedding, they had a honeymoon to get to in JAMAICA!
